UPDWG respects the privacy of its supporters and online visitors. The following policy describes how we collect, store, use and protect personal data. By accessing our websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and other online content, you agree to and understand this privacy policy. Data Collection and Storage

UPDWG collects personal data provided by individuals on a voluntary basis. We may collect names, organizational affiliations, email addresses, postal addresses, and phone numbers when provided by an individual. In some instances, we may collect other information such as job title, gender, and professional associations. We also receive information when an individual accesses our online content (website, newsletter, social media channels) including IP addresses, time, date, browser used, and actions taken within a site. We may receive information about which electronic mailings an individual receives, which articles are viewed, and what other actions are taken.

Personal data is stored in one of our contact management databases, which are accessible by our host organization, VillageReach’s, employees and service providers (processors). We work with the database platforms and any service providers to ensure your data are protected. We will only retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes it is collected for, including the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

UPDWG will never sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose your data to third-party service providers working on our behalf to deliver a service to you (for eg. mailings of updates, news, events) but we do not allow third-party service providers to use your data for any other use.

UPDWG may collect additional information on individuals when specifically and knowingly provided to us, for example when individuals apply for membership or register for an event. UPDWG does not collect, process or store credit/debit card or other payment information – all credit/debit card or other payment transactions are processed through our  third-party payment processor, Stripe who specialize in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card or other payment transactions.

Data Usage

UPDWG may use your personal data in the following ways:

• To send information on UPDWG and its programing through our newsletter and email;
• To send invitations to UPDWG-related events;
• To acknowledge membership payments and send reminders about membership renewal;
• To process your request to attend a UPDWG event;
• To create and manage member user profiles;
• To conduct standard business communication with our partners, vendors, and other parties;
• To comply with our legal and contractual obligations;
• To improve our website and digital communications.

Data Protection

The transmission of data online is never completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the total security of your information. By submitting your data you agree to this transfer, storage or processing.  We agree to take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are taken to provide similar degrees of data protection outside of the EEA.

Data Access and Control

For purposes of member networking and collaboration, your personal data may be made available to other UPDGW members, if you so choose, through our online membership directory.  You may choose to add or remove your personal data by adjusting your profile preferences at any time.  At no point will your data be shared with any third-party or non-member of UPDWG.

All newsletters, updates, and auto-generated emails will include the option to access, correct, or delete your personal information, opt out from receiving emails as well as manage your subscriptions.

If you wish to obtain confirmation of the personal information we may hold about you, to withdraw any consent you may have previously given us, or to delete your personal information, please contact us at info@UPDWG.org.
